I dislike guild parties.
In my experience, guild parties are good for fun, but not for serious leveling.
I like doing random parties, for things like this AL3 event. Mostly, because since it's random people, one's not on vent with them, thus forcing the party to pay attention to chat. With guild parties, no one reads the chat, it gets a little annoying when you've got something to say and can't do it on vent. Also, with random parties [the good ones], it's a little more focused. People tend to do their job more than half-assed, due the possibility of getting kicked when they aren't. With guild parties, this is nulled, because ... well ... It's a party of guild members, no one really gets kicked, even if they aren't doing anything 90% of the time. =_=

Last full day for the AL3 event, guise! 8D Did you all get what you wanted?? I know I did!
I made a second HP, a Biochem, and leveled my Scholar somewhat. Lol
I sort of wanted to make a Sniper, too, but I hardly play my hunter and haven't spent much time investing in any decent gears for her. Bah
Work those butts off some more, we got one full day and a portioned day left~

I never did a Guild party mostly because I don't really belong to a guild; lol! but sorry they were a bard experience for you :<
Grats on second Hp and Bio! if you decide to take advantage of the last day I suggest leveling you hunter some :3 wouldnt hurt to get her a few levels

From what I've seen just because people in your party aren't in your vent does not mean that they are forced to pay attention to party chat really, you get those random people that don't pay attention sometimes. :[
But yes, sometimes guild members don't read the party chat because they're all in Vent together, happens all the time, but also depending on your class you may have a fuckton of buff messages spamming your chat, like me, making it impossible to really read much. You know, when you have 12 angelus notices, 12 magnificat notices, and 12 of the Smith Adrenaline Rush buff going off all at once. Hahaha. I do at least try to read it though.
Guild parties are my favorite, though, they're always the best imo (I'm not against randoms, though I do prefer guild members or friends), but it depends on your guild too... I've never really been in a guild with bad parties. But also the only guilds I've been in are FT and Sasuke/Inevitable. And FT was totally the best at forming parties, they never sucked.
I just get really annoyed when there's like 15+ people in the channel. THAT is when it gets difficult to talk in a party. nobody hears you say brb, nobody sees it in the chat. Blah! But people don't seem to read it in random chats either. -.-;

oohhh yeah.
i do hate how sometimes it ends up a party full of leeches though i'll agree to that. xD that doesn't always happen, but occasionally it does. it annoys me when im the only priest and can't afk to pee, because everyone wanted to do outside hp for leeches. ARGGHHH.
but it's also nice at the same time, because guildies aren't going to turn you away. unless it's a high wiz which truly is useless in al3... as long as you can do SOMETHING to help. they let me go on my esma linker a few times. pretty useless in al3 imo but she could do -something-. xD;

Yeah, like Aeth said it depends on the guild. I understand what it's like to be in a sucky guild party, but I'm now in a guild that is good at both pvp and pvm. Also, if you're not happy with the way the guild does it's parties, maybe you should mention it. As long as you aren't blunt and dumb like me, just tell em. If they're like "gtfo", then maybe they aren't the guild for you. From my experience, as long as you aren't too shy to speak up on vent or you can use vent and have a mic, vent helps to make the parties less boring and more fun. Plus I end up teleing on the party sometimes from chatting in-game since I always use battlemode :<

Oh man, if you are talking about the AB party last night, holy crap. There was two people I almost didn't reinvite during the time I had to remake the party cause they were so bad! XD So yeah I know what you mean about people slacking cause of no fear of being kicked! I still like guild parties better because of vent though, it's just way more fun to me. 8D
Also, if I had realized it was you in the party I woulda said hiiiii!! ):

But that wasn't a good night for me to be in guild party lol
Elena really wanted to go to AL with me though, so I couldn't bring myself to turn her down :x

I got what I wanted with the time I had... and now I have a full work day ahead of me preventing that I get KC parties on my rogue and sage... oh well!
