Nothing new besides a little art.

My Alchemist: Maligned Merchant. She's pretty fun to play now that I got the hang of it. Not thrilled with how the face turned out but I had fun doing a kind of a risque look. Mal strikes me as a bit of a skank.

I haven't been able to take much advantage of the EXP boost on Valkyrie this week, mostly because there are just so many people on it's been lagging like crazy. Between that and everyone and their grandmother botting for EXP items in the huge rush to make a bit of make-believe money, I probably won't be on again until tomorrow evening. So aside from doing the Nile Rose quest for a couple of my chars, not much has gone on in the way of leveling.

Jabbers out~

If you sleep, you will DIE.

Writing the L3P aco guide was pretty interesting. I think I ran into every rare spawn that I could have.

[Haha, ow.]

When I finished tearing my hair out updating it fifty million times on the rare occasion that I forgot something, I had fun in town.

[PROFIT.]

Oh, also in other places.

[Sens' Secret Laboratory.]

[Needs moar duplicates.]

[Not actually Beelzebub. Occasionally, things can go wrong.]

Not that things ever go right.

[This happens more often than would seem possible.]

One of the benefits is that we've run into Dragonfly a couple of times.

[You know, like once or twice.]

Just about the same time, the GMs decided to chime in with their oddly worded advertisements.

[Srs.]

Instead of sitting around, we decided to do something productive.

[Something like scarring your mind.]

[For reference.]

Lozane and I decided to GTFO and kill things with his abnormally muscled right arm Guillotine Fist.

[It usually goes better than this.]

When we got tired of running around the globe, looking for horrible stabbity death super awesome fun time, we headed over to Rachel sanctuary to do our usual self-deception positive thinking and break a few cultists and squiggly death creatures.

[So damn lazy.]

it turns out we're both really lazy though, and we spent a lot of time sitting on the various benches and pillows, staring at the spiny arrow.

[It's kinda blue-ish. And then there's that square.]

[OH GOD IT'S TURNED ON US]

. . .

[Area-of-Effect Asura!]

[For Amberling.]

. . .

[Wonder what's inside.]

Trickery and Deceit

WARNING: Image Heavy.

Since I have no little regard for human life, I decided to leap blindly into a warp portal.

Hillwinds? HILLWINDS!?
How boring.

I decided to take a page out of the book of Wolfgang Puck, and kick it up a notch.

[Okay, so not too exciting at first.]

[Actually got three Jakks.]

[Pretty hawt, eh?]

Eventually I died got bored and found my way to Juno again.

I hope you didn't plan on leveling in Hillwinds.

Playing my alch and talk of Role Play

orz

I usually hate playing alch. I don't know why, it's just kind of irrational. But I'm starting to love Lif. Ridiculously cute little bugger and she's kind of fun to level and it's making me actually have to sit down and learn how to play an Alch and I'm finding I... actually kind of enjoy it. Especially acid terror. There is just something about throwing acid at monsters that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling deep in my soul ♥

So yes, my alch has gone up four levels in an evening and I have a level 8 homunculus looking for a good place to level it.

I dled the Azzy AI although I'm trying to get it so that the homunc attacks on it's own because if the camera angle isn't juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust right, the alt+double right click method causes it to go spinning right round. Like a record baby. =__= It's a bit irritating.

So yes, looking for advice on any good AIs or what to do with the azzy AI and good spots to level the little bugger.

Now for photo funtiems :D

It's off to Lighthalzen to do the Bioethics quest. Mal is particularly pleased about the prospect of a Homunculus to help in her quest for total domination of Rune Midgard through the creation of chain stores and restaurants~
---

A handy disguise is good for any occasion! ...Especially sneaking into secret laboratories that are possibly practicing unspeakable research.

Though the prospect of having to buy from a clown is actually more terrifying than anything the labs can throw at Mal.
---

Exasperated after a long lecture about playing god and tampering with forbidden knowledge. It looks like a lot of running around is in order to get that self-righteous bastard Kellasus to teach her a damn skill.
---

After much running around, a homunculus is born!
---

After much contemplation, a name is chosen...
---

Mal and her very first minion! Soon she will command a vast legion of Bot Gank!Rogues and the Novice Spambots!

Rune Midgard, prepare for your imminent subjectation to the Maligned Merchant!
---

Funny thing happened the other day. Under my rogue account, I ran into an old friend I used to roleplay with on Sakray. We shot the shit for a while and caught up, and soon found ourselves talking about starting up a roleplay on the Valkyrie server. It's probably a pipe dream since I don't think anyone RPs anywhere but on private servers which die after a few months anyway. Still it was a nice thought and we may do our own plots again together.

Also~! Much thanks to you guys who offered advice on my char builds. I'll definitely be working on those :3

looking for advice on builds

My current character list. Anyone have advice on what needs work for this bunch? I don't do WOE on iRO so I'm just looking for things I should work on for party leveling and soloing. Except for Mal. The only reason I job-changed her is because I hate the way the merchant sprites look :[ /shallow

The End: Beyond the Veil of Valhalla

So we finally completed the Race to 99.
Lozane came in first with his Monk (surprise!), I managed to gain second place with Thors, and then Dessa's Sage was last, but she enjoyed the journey longer than either of us. :D

[ Shine get is a lot of fun. ]

[ Being essentially immortal for a few days has it's perks. Plus you can blind people. ]

We hung out in town for a while distracting Sah, Emmu, and Arthelag.
Still, it got old so we ran around in the maze until we found Valhalla.

[ We wind up in the middle of the desert far more often than is kosher. ]

In the immortal immoral words of sloppy taco,

[ While we were banging around Moscovia I found another mantis card. ]

I think I have Mantis Magnets. If only I could apply this luck to something else. :(
We got enough exp there to move on to the next stage of our World Domination Plot Free Hug Plan.

Clocks. :D

There's a room in clocks where the timed spawns allow you to kill non-stop with only the occasional interruption from Skeleton Archers.

[ We fought against the AFChemists for clock spawns. End tally: ~70 Elunium. ]

Once we hit job 50 we got out of there as fast as possible at faster than light velocities. :F
Fortunately, everyone was around for this part as well, so we got a good bunch of pictures of everyone changing.

[ Woo! Okay, now to do some more leveling. ]

As you might suspect, at this point we went back to Spinx.
This is a disturbingly recurring theme.

[ I couldn't really come up with anything, but the layering is amusing. ]

The cornerstone of not going completely insane not being bored is good conversation.
Stimulating topics like politics and metaphysics often grace us. :O
However, as we often find ourselves in dangerous situations, we occasionally have to cut this conversation down into a shorter, more efficient form.

[ Oh, what a fine day it is, indeed! ]

To qualify his raving madness ranting, there was an idiot mouth-breather who tried to mess with us. :\
He didn't succeed, but it's still annoying to run into people who have no idea who to play the game, and then attempt to grief us (albeit unsuccessfully) because we do.

[ Not actually a joke. ]

[ In unrelated news, having Siegfried tokens is really helpful. ]

[ Consequences. ]

It certainly didn't help leveling that whilst we were punching (or stabbing) tall, terrifying undead abominations and cow-people Ifrit had found his way to the magical land of expees.

[ Stabbity Death. Thank god for walls. ]

Until next time, Hang on to Your Panties!

Hammered in Prontera

Last time, on RAGNAROK-Z:

[ He's an old woman magnet. ]

While he's been busy with the Baba Yaga and Bathories, I've been stemming.
That is, acting like a bot in Mandragoras.

[ Noticed her running around and stemming a prodigious rate. ]

So when we were running with the Baba Yaga, I was surprised to see her again. :O

[ She moves REALLY fast. ]

Hiero's theory is that she's stalking me. D:

[ Capslock is Cruise Control to (funky) Cold. ]

And now, the Feature Presentation...

Since the only useful member of our party Dessa was busy, Hiero guided me through a couple quests.

[ I have the best luck. ]

[ They need to reconsider some of the NPC names. ]

[ So. What's an unhappy Doddler family look like? ]

Don't answer that.
We've been experiencing pain the joys of Thors. :D

[ I think this speaks for itself. ]

[ Sound advice. ]

About the only thing that slows us down, aside from dying is bleeding. The Sallies sell seashells on the seashore and Guardians cast bleeding, which wreaks havoc on delicate digestion of Dessa.

Trisaki is an amazing priest. He can heal through just about anything, and keeps buffs up with mechanical precision.
We figured out why through trial and error pretty quickly though.

[ Taxagor was mysteriously silent on the subject. ]

I managed to get a level before the sweet embrace of death unconsciousness claimed Tirisaki, but we couldn't find the Tin-Man a heart. :(

[ We're so stylish. ]

After that, Banana Nut kidnapped me, and we wound up in noobis again. :X

[ I regret nothing. /dex+ 99 ]

Somehow, we managed to brainwash Professor Koch to accompany us to Goats, where he tanked for great justice.
People followed us around a lot. I guess it's weird for sages to level together? :O
[ I killed him for his share of the Antelope Horns. ]

And now a word from our Sponsors~

[ Reboot after installing new video drivers. ]

On our travels throughout the land, I managed to run into interesting status effects.

[ SOON: ]

[ It's not like I need to ambulate. It would just be nice once in a while. ]

While exploring, we ran into an old acquaintance...

[ What will happen to our villains heroes?! Tune in Next Time! :3 ]

Rocket Bat

It seems that my treachery our luck is on the rise.
The cards have finally been dropping in Spinx.

[Double Titan...]

[Mmm, protection.]

qwer

[Need moar angels.]

I've been leveling with both the Dessa and Lozane.
Amberling likes to switch it up between her Dancer and her Sage.
When we level together, we do terrible awesome things to with Mercenaries. Turns out that mercs don't just help you kill enemies at stupid rates (no cooldown pierce), but they also add EXP taps, granting us about 25% more exp per kill.

[There's more spears here than I can count! ... wait]

[Yeah, that's Lozane's Monk, but we only use him for his Merc.]

Sadly, both Dessa's sage and dancer are bulimic weight-challenged, and I have to cary their potions for them.

[Banana Nut, like the ice-cream.]

We met some ... interesting people down there.

[She couldn't flee Anubis at all.]

[This man thinks that kill stealing is a job class.]

Still, I guess he couldn't have predicted that we know how to screenshot.

Despite a large amount of kill-stealing, I was able to convince Lozane that it was worth his time to level up my heal slave his high priest some more.
There are

[It's like I know these people!]

I don't, really.

...

The new storage patch hit, and along with it came Poring Wars.
However, they only really tested the storage update and due to typical iro incompetence unpredictable incompatibilities they were unable to separate them into two updates.

[Just leave them to die...]

Yes, the death of my enemies is assured love of my fellow man is strong.
zxcv

I decided to make a thief out of one of my novices, and had a very interesting time getting to Morroc.

[Yeah, screw walking.]

On my way to the thief guild, I came across the Morroc encampment.
Slightly interested in if there were any changes, I bothered traded the merchants.

[orly]

How does this sort of thing happen?
There must be some dev who thinks he is incredibly funny.

Out of things to do, I leveled my characters polymorphed kitties in Juno.

[Selling Yaoi.]

Sah still won't stop laughing every time I log in. :(

[Guess what's coming up for movie night?]

More MVPing and Endless Minos

Sah, Arthelus, Lozane, and I were pretty bored today, so we went down to Spinx 5 to mob up delicious exp.

[It's true. I've tried.]

Life got scarce fairly interesting when Pharaoh decided to devour our souls check on things.

[Arthelus on randoms, me on slave tankage, Lozane on MVP, and Sah being awesome.]

[Something clever here.]

After a few minutes, it was all over. I didn't come close to dying thanks to the epic heals.
Remind me to get one of those overpowered excellent staves.

[It was the Sonic Blow that did it.]

A little while later, we drifted off to Juno.

Loz, Dessa, and I grouped up and headed off to check out the exp/drops/etc in the new zones.

We ran into Zmey Gorynych, and died decided to MVP him.
I forgot to get shots of that, but eh.

[YEEEEEAAAH BOII]

Dessa really wants the dragon's crown.
Well, one of them.
I forget which.

[A hunter managed to run straight up to him.]

[Seriously, don't feed the dragon.]
We got an Old Purple Box which contained a bad joke mysterious unidentified Two-Handed Sword.
I eyeballed it, and turns out it was really a Two-Handed Sword[2].
Whee.

I've leveled a few times a ludicrous amount in the past week..

[Level 86!]

Missed a couple angels.

[Level 89!]

Noticing a theme?

[Level 90!]

This was good stuff and I've been enjoying the knight even more.
I've been leveling with pretty much anyone that hangs out in Spinx 4 now.

[The Headless Peco-men. And our lovely assistant assassin.]

Icarus has been dragging me along whenever he heads down there. I steal his sp bum heals and BC buffs off of him. He's one of the cooler people playing Ragnarok right now. :3

[Unicorn got stunned.]

Admittedly, this happens every other mino fairly often for an assassin, but it still made me laugh out loud.
After a while, our group got really big, since we had along Yachi Yuri, and he's a pushover nice priest who'll buff and heal anyone.

[We barely survived about 20 minos and 6-7 anubis.]

I actually managed to get a Minorous Card while mooching buffs from a slave party soloing!

[...]

I actually got my hands on another one before this, but it had dropped from a group that a high wizard had wiped out. I gave it back to him. :(

[Sweet sweet victory.]

While I was taking those pictures, an Anubis spawned on me and proceeded to make me regret being vain decided to Sonic Blow.

Fortunately, I was hanging with the slave party, and the GC pally grabbed it's delicious exp.

[Wah indeed!]

Well, that's all for now, Forks!
Keep picking up those Honey Pots!

Hiero Preston Lives Again!

Not that I got him killed some 486 times had any reason to doubt him.

After accomplishing one of the most difficult tasks on Ragnarok (namely: getting a support priest to 99), he decided to level up in the lamest way possible.
For this task, we returned to Morroc.

[So... S> Nile Rose. L/N/O]

We ditched him and raced to the valkyrie threw a parade in his honor, and mocked him when he got lost in the maze cheered him on.
[A winrar is you!]

I'm actually pretty sure they replaced the valk's wall of text congratulatory speech with that.
He was then kidnapped and stuffed into Bunnito's saddlebags tanked on Anubis until he reached...

[Level 54/40!]

No, I lie. Once he got job 50, we did the same thing not ditching if that's what you think, and met him at the High Priest.

[LINE UP!]

The after-party was pretty fun. There was green ale.

Chapter XVI: Random Things Happen

Since the last time I wrote, the denizens of June became cannibals did some questionable things.

I decided to clear out my storage (again) by blowing up upgrading all my items.
It sure got rid of all those Falchion[4] and Stiletto[3].

[This happened once.]

In other news, anyone want to buy +8 Stiletto [3]? In bulk?

We went to Thors for some reason...

[This happened a lot.]

After some setbacks smashing successes, Loz decided he wanted to try something less prone to horrible stabbity death new and unexpected. This required him to learn Turn Undead on his rogue.
I obliged.

[He didn't drop anything good though.]

After savoring the taste of victory, I sent him on his way, and returned to town.
I noticed an odd regular, for juno person streaking off into the distance.

[Why am I hungry now?]

There was some epic hat stacking...

[Needless to say, this was terrifying.]

[I disavow all responsibility for this image.]

[Chilling out, maaaan.]

[Half pirate... half robot... half flower...]

After acting like a jerk the suave and cunning man that I am, Dessa and I decided to relive the depression good times in Sohees.

[Poring Powers! Activate!!]

I used my failstab leet Spear Stab skillz0rs to poke all the Mandragoras onto one tile.
Needless to say, since Dessa was on her Izzybelly Dancer, it looked naughty.

[Nice... flee.]

Poor Choices in Literature

Those that know me can attest to a repetitive failing cycle of life in my character choices.
Despite there still being 18 levels plenty of things to do on my priest, I often find myself distracted by my other characters.

I'm sure that this affliction strikes many that play Ragnarok, but it seems like clockwork for me in particular... which brings us to the Swordsman part of the year.
As this auspicious name suggests, I pick a slot, delete, and create a swordsman. (Usually a slot containing a swordsman).

Evidently tired of this repetition failing, Loz decided to wrangle together a group of lackies friends to push me through swordsmanhood and into knight-dom.

It's gone remarkably well.

fsh[FSH]

Once I got enough skill points, I went to HO's and started leveling there for the rest of my life.
It went really well once I switched from a Very Strong Fire Pike to a +8 Trip Smashing Bloody Pike.

[Geared for War!]

With this, I was able to start two-shotting, with a rare wtf-two-shot. (The difference of about 200 damage).

As you can imagine, pierce leveling goes something like this.

[Arm-pit Attack!!]

High orcs are the real exp source, but Orc Achers aren't exactly bad exp. They're just incredibly annoying to close with. They'll position-bug you, and half the time they're also position bugged.

[Ear-Pierce!!]

Despite the downsides, there's a possibility that they'll drop a rare like Gakkung [2] or Orc Archer Card.

[See the piles of phat lewt? Like that Wind arrow.]

I've already gotten one High Orc Card. This is why I can't have real loot nice things.

Still, it's been good leveling there.

[Yes. I leveled off an Orc Lady. What? They drop nice things too!!]

As I've gotten more burlyness intelligence, I've been able to kill more and more orcs.
Currently, survival has been my limiting factor; for which I thank an abundance of novice potions tons of dubiously-acquired healing items.

Actually, thanks to hp usually being the limiting factor, I've been using Endure to close with the archers.

[HAHAHA WHAT NOW. Well, I'm still a ways from him, and he's probably bugged.]

My focus on getting my STR to 100 and INT to about 20, I've sorta overlooked VIT.

[Stunned again... With phat lewt sitting so close..!]

Occasionally, I trick someone convince someone to come level with me. The buffs make leveling so easy. Plus, having someone to act as a meat-shield while I run from Orc Hero heal me.
I've actually run into a pretty wide variety of people leveling. Like that one bard bot which I've been reporting regularly.
Hi, moron!

...

[I guess I might as well sit for a while and regen.]

And then, I was eaten by a Wolf.

And then Orc Hero spawned and we died.

Notes: The images associated with this particular fiasco expedition are currently on another hard-drive. Since I'm too lazy to get my IDE and RAID to play nice together there are unforseen complications in the way my BIOS handles not failing, I'm going to leave it up to your imagination to construct witty comments and imagery from all the times you've botted leveled with friends in Louyang.
The events described below took place on Valkyrie and as such should not be construed to matter in any way, shape or form. Unless you're utterly derranged and play on a server that doesn't matter one of those fine and upstanding members of the Ragnarok community who reside there.

...

Having danced to the death with wolves and lost, we set out to find new lands of abundant bots exp.

It was a perilous and epic journey, from lands of splendor to deep forests and dark swamps. The band which had started strong of arms, found their numbers dwindling with each landscape they traversed. When at last, they arrived in the port there were but four left. Yet, four were all that was needed to fufill their quest, so they strove on.

An Explanation of "Group Dynamics":
Being the completely \insane\ well-adjusted individuals that we are, a couple of us have a minor OCD.
Whenever we stop \rolling about the landscape in a katamari setting innocent people on fire, we try to sit down and form various geometric shapes.
When we're in our ready stance (read: milling about, waiting for Loz to either die or bring us exp), we wind up arranging ourselves in a protective formation around our squishy mage.

This doesn't help, since manti just spawn on her anyways.
Even when they spawn around us, they clearly find her flesh much more delicious an easier target.

At this point, just picture several hours of people dying randomly and being ks'd by bots and you begin to have an inkling of the depths of depravity and mindless monotony that make up a day in the life of a Valkyrian. (Yes, that's a real word. Seriously.)

Delicious Wolf Meat

Curiosity snuffed the feline and we finally took the plunge.
And became.. NARUTARDS.

Since everyone else was lazy sleepy, Loz and I decided to get a head start and made a couple of ninjas with a new naming scheme.

[For the eyeball-impaired: Nonstick Fryingpan]

As a reference, I've included a previous naming scheme.

[31 Flavors of Pain]

Supposedly the general populace was finding the ninja test hard, so the GMs dumbed it down. I beg to differ.

[The true test of a ninja.]

Despite the initial setbacks of having to take up masonry, and shitting bricks finding someone gullible enough to party with iron ore for a few apples zeny, we were able to complete our peyote-fueled spirit journey to one of the many red trees dotting the landscape pilgrimage to the Sacred Oak of the Crimson Seal and learned how to dress ourselves like manga-rejects the true ways of the ninja.

[This is going to give me nightmares. About runny eggs.]

Having offended Wolfgang Puck God, we struck out for the wild country of... I HAVE NO IDEA. Loz dragged me on a wild adventure through multiple cities and airships. I vaguely remember gambling away my life's savings in apples.

[...]

SOON:

The amazing Amberling sadly surrendered  to our foolish fascination with this brilliant bastardization of a magesterial mage and treacherous thief. We despicably
drug her, brashly and bodily through the tormenting training grounds and into the Wide World of Wagnarok Ragnarok. Alliteration will be the death of me.

[Ghetto Innuendo Here]

Once she was caught up to about our levels, we ran about being stabbed with hooked tentacles setting rocks on fire an occasionally walking back from town. Eventually we wound up doing silly things.

[Froface! Menace of rocks and small plants.]

Exhausted from sitting upright for hours I lapsed into unconsciousness, waking to discover a new log of my adventures and a waffle-esque imprint on my face.

Oh Hai

It was a nondescript day.

Everything is as it should be.[Everything is as it should be.]

I'm not really sure how to recount all the trickery and deceit that has passed in the time since ROdiary went belly up.

[Futterbilk Mudge strikes again...]

Since some people in our group have no money are masochists are hobo-core, we decided to hit up Valkyrie. Loz found my narcolepsy an ingenius way to pad his pockets.
During the downtime, I checked out Prontera.

[And left immediately.]

When the rest of the crew wussed out went to sleep like the sissy cowards they are I made a crackfiend mage.

[He just woke up. In the middle of a forest.]

Soon after, I was eaten by a wolf.
