Summer Colored Fireflies

夏色の蛍 - Summer Colored Fireflies is the story told from Leiphiran's side.

Leif is the 3rd born in a family of 6 children. He had the largest and most robust build, and at a very young age had decided to take the path of a swordsman, following in their father’s footsteps.
He was closest to his older brother Ivan, who was born the weakest among the siblings, and always watched over him when their father was absent. Though they all loved each other as family, the two shared a closer bond in comparison.
An incident occured when Leif was 12, resulting in their father’s death. Before Eleusius swallowed his last breath, he made Leif promise that he would be strong, and that he would protect the family in his place. This was the promise that shaped the rest of Leif’s life.

Through generations, Leif’s family has been part of a guild that had long watched over the Yggdrasil. When Eleusius, the current leader, passed away, Leif was appointed as the next in line. When he became a Royal Guard in his early twenties, he was then accepted as the rightful leader of the guild. While he has his duties as guildleader, as a Royal Guard he also has responsibilities to the Prontera church, which he gladly does whenever he is needed.

Several years passed peacefully, until Leif began to sense changes in his brother Ivan. He approached Ivan with his concerns, but received no real answer--until one chilly spring night, when Ivan asked him a strange question:

“If we could bring back Father, what are you willing to sacrifice?”

Ivan then confessed that he had read of a way to bring back the dead: with a piece of Ymir’s heart and a thousand souls, he could then sacrifice the Yggdrasil as a toll for one person from the underworld to return to the land of the living. Leif vehemently objected, he pleaded with his brother to forget his crazed plans and live on with his life, but Ivan simply smiled and disappeared from the guild the next morning.

Leif searched for his brother desperately, but it was as if Ivan had evaporated.

Several months later, Leif found rumors surrounding a mysterious organization called Blackwind; he became increasingly alarmed as he heard news of a piece of Ymir’s heart vanishing with the rise of the organization, and ordered the guardians to stand ready, should his suspicions indeed be correct...

As he expected, Blackwind gathered at the gate of the guardians’ castle, intent on besieging the guardians. Leif was not completely surprised to see Ivan, his beloved brother, standing at the commander’s position.

Ivan Rosengren

Birthday: September 1st 

Personality: Cold, distant, aloof, Ivan only pretends to be kind and polite in front of strangers. Intelligent but manipulative, his thoughts are often unknown.

Age: 30

Height: 6'2" 

Birthday: December 22nd

Personality: Quiet and reserved, with a blunt way of speaking which, coupled with his usually bland expression, is often mistaken for arrogance.

Leiphiran Rosengren

Age: 26

Height: 6'7

Personality: Kind and generous, a knight who follows the code of honor. Hardworking, he rarely complains about his workload, is persistent in many ways.

Renard du Sauveterre

Age: 28

Height: 5'7"

Personality: strict, prudent, but in reality is willing to help those in need. Also known to have trouble expressing his affectionate side.

Personality: A man of few words, rarely speaks of anything unnecessary. A loving father to all 6 his children, and a responsible husband.

Personality: Appears playful and flirty, but is the most intelligent in the family. Only serious sometimes, but tries to stay out of conflict. 

Havior Servillius

Age: 25

Height: 6'2 

Personality: Knight of honor, likes to take care of people, is also strict but kind to children and women. Leif and Ivan's childhood friend.
