It's been a while since I've posted a new entry, hasn't it? Well, with the servers down and not much to do before I go to sleep, I had the brilliant idea of writing a last-minute catch-up entry! Expect a barrage of pictures and the usual walls of text.

So, where do I start? Well, for one, I joined a guild! The Valkyrie Players Guild, to be precise! It made me re-realize that RO was indeed funner when you're playing with a whole bunch of people instead of just soloing all the time and it also made me feel kind of silly for being too shy to try to join a guild all this time.

Anyway, I happened to join the same time as a Swordsman named Wolfpup. He had some numbers at the end of his IGN, but I forgot them all. He just joined the day before, so the guild leader, Mr. Budd, and I decided to go get him some levels! We went to Pecos, which was alright until they used Sonic Blow... Then after a bit, we decided to try Hodes. On the way there, we decided to try to kill a Golem, but...

... It, uh, didn't go too well. I'm not that bad of an Aco, honest! D: What happened was, Budd decided to bring his Super Novice-to be along since it was closer to our range of levels. The Snowman Hat ended up setting off Frost Joke / Unbarring Octave, which froze me and... ended up doing that. Dx

ANYWAY, we got to Hodes eventually! By that time, another guild member, Scrub, had signed on and joined us. Sadly...

Death was in our future on that map too, stupid Frills. xT But it's okay because more people came to help out!

Eventually the awesome second-classers left us lil' first-classers to our Hodes genocide. :> We did pretty well, I think, managing to kill off some settlements like the one here:

I don't think I've ever been so happy about massacre before!

We also had our very guild event that Friday! We ended up deciding to do the Valentine's Day quest together since it was going to be removed that week.

On the trip to Hugel! Seeing all those little green bars was kinda amusing, haha.

I already did the quest, but I could still help with collecting Well-baked Cookies. Since we already had a Priest in the party, I decided to bring along Miria, my Thief, to speed things up. It did feel kinda slow hunting for over a hundred cookies that had a 15% drop, though. We did encounter some interesting things though, like Angeling! I got to get my revenge on that stupid thing, mwahaha! Though nothing good dropped... I kind of wish I got a screenshot of that, but I was too busy going "ASDFDSG" to remember.

After a few hours though, we got all the cookies we needed and started distributing them!

Isn't the Baby Monk cute? x3 That's Milk Tea, the Priestess from the screenshot before~

After we finished the event, some people had to leave, but those of us who stayed decided to try out the minigames in Hugel. Let's just say that both the Races and Bingo are annoying, haha. It wasn't my lucky day, but it was fun threatening cheering on the monsters in the races. Although, Rocklobster, the Merchant, won Bingo three times in a row, which was pretty amazing!

So what else happened? Well, sometime over the week, Budd transed his Blacksmith and Wolfpup made an Archer. They decided to go level at Siromas with a Level 10 Merc, and I tagged along to provide heals and buffs. Only...

... Yeah, we wiped to a Gazeti. :< Budd died first and I had this genius plan to lure the Gazeti away using Pneuma while Wolfpup went to rez, but let's just say it didn't work...

However, Masaru, another guild member, was on at the time and decided to come to rez us on his Priest! However...

... That didn't work either. It's okay though, we still managed to get some levels!

Speaking of which, I told Masaru of my ambitious plan to get Liadan and Miria to Priest and Rogue over the weekend and he decided to help me get some exp over at Geographers!

We decimated that mob, heh heh heh. I always feel so triumphant about finding mobs like this on a somewhat populated map.

Naturally though, I returned the favor by healing/buffing his Mage as he leeched his Super Novice-to be!

Even Geographers don't deserve that kind of fate!

Eventually though, he reached his goal!

He also got free Panties, which makes me wish I made a Super Novice instead of constantly refreshing Ragial for a cheap one.

Speaking of which!

Found one vending for 460k which isn't that bad of a price, so I quickly nabbed it. The Ygg Berries from the quest helped pay for it, wahaha.

We also had another guild event that Saturday to hunt Sohees for Skirts of Virgin to get the Pretend Murdered headgear!

Yet another "look at this big mob!" kind of screenshot, heh heh. Granted, we didn't find any at all, but at least it was good exp! We also checked out Payon 5 for a bit at the expense of my SP, but it was pretty cool knowing we could take down some Ninetails!

The next day (yesterday, actually!), something super awesome happened.

Miria was ready for a job change! Between gloriously grinding at Leaf Cats and Siromas, she finally hit job 41! She could've changed at 40, but I wanted to max Hiding just for the heck of it. I was suggested to go to job 50 and get Envenom, but between all the Rogue's skills, it's not really necessary, right...?

Like a true Rogue-to-be, Miria puts her foot on the armrest. And also levitates, for some reason.

I got the item collecting quest where you had to give him 6 Blue Herbs and some other undead loot, which made me want to cry because that's essentially giving him 24k, not including the 10k fee! Thankfully my Aco could collect most of the stuff without much trouble, though I never knew how heavily botted Payon 2 was. It made finding Skel-Bones really annoying, haha.

Sadly though, I forgot that I needed Horrendous Mouths and by the time I realized, I had already walked Liadan all the way to Pharos Lighthouse to deliver the items. Thankfully though, Masaru came to the rescue by hunting the mouths on his Sniper and making sure my two lil' first-classers didn't die to Sea Otters or anything on the way to the maze.

Since I already had experience with the Rogue maze, getting through it wasn't too hard. The very first time I took it 5 years ago (uh-oh, get ready for a flashback), I remember dying countless amount of times because of the Abyss knights, wandering aimlessly, losing all of my SP in hide while waiting for the stupid monsters to walk away, and having to be escorted back to the stupid hut from the lighthouse by my friends... Still, something about fending off otters, telling my friends the password into the hut, and watching them all wait there for me made me incredibly happy back then. And when I finally got through it, I spazzed out and got so impatient waiting for them to walk back to the Lighthouse to watch the actual change. I shouldn't have been, but it was my first second class character on RO EVER!

Though, one of the most striking memories I had then was this one time when I was practically screaming about why there were Abyss Knights in the maze and one of my friends screamed back that if I didn't complain so much and just walked, I would've made it already.

Well, that's what I did this time around! I remembered I had Backslide and just kinda walked, though I cheated a bit and sat down to talk and regen SP every once in a while. Died once, but eventually...

Sooo dope!

Funnily enough, this is the second second-class character I've ever had on iRO. It's sort of amusing that both my first and second were the same exact character who got sent to the same exact guy for the Rogue test. I kind of wonder if Miria will be my first 99 too, but it's too early to be thinking things like that.

Also, my days of searching Ragial for a Big Ribbon have finally come to fruition!

Miria without her Red Ribbon just doesn't feel right. It's like a blast from the past though!

At some point, I joined some guildspeople at Hodes and Dokebis! Budd was helping level some new members and friends, so it worked kind of like an impromptu guild event as more people showed up. Sadly people had to leave when we got to Dokebis, but ah well. While I was there, I found my Aco's twin!

Liadan has a lot of clones, actually... I remember seeing one and she sweatdropped at me. :[

BTW, to explain this screenshot a bit, I like sitting on dead people, I'm not sure why. One of the new members that came to Dokebis had to go for a bit and sat near the NPC while the rest of the party killed small children, but when we came back he was dead. D: So I guarded the corpse while people got Ygg Leaves!

After that, I was skirting around going back to Gators to get my Aco to job 50... I went there once with some guildies and got like 20 gators away from the 150 turn-in, but I've been feeling too shy to try to go by myself. It sounds horribly silly, but there's something frightening about having to approach a whole group of strangers. Yeah, I know it's just asking for something simple like joining a party, but... arrgh, it's an irrational fear, I guess. I'll get over it eventually...

Anyway, I decided to get Miria some job levels by taking her to Mandragoras. They're easy to kill and give me money, so why not?

Why the heck is a Despero always there? It killed my Archer on the same map like a few weeks ago, so I wonder if it was the same one....

... I also wonder why I didn't take the northern exit of Pront instead, argh.

Anyway, I decided to randomly go hunt Orc Ladies for their card and some Iron. Not too hard for my Rogue to take on and they give decent exp, so why not? Apparently the ladies thought so too because one of them welcomed me with a photo op!

Then I killed her.

I felt kinda bad at the time doing my random Orc genocide, especially since I killed some babies and destroyed some families and stuff. Ended up getting a good bunch of Iron and that professional cooking kit though so it's o...kay, I guess...? This is getting worse the more I talk about it, but that's okay because it's the end of the entry anyway!

So, plans for the week because I just love planning? Mainly it's just to get Liadan to job 50 and finally get her to Priest! She's about 4 job levels away, so I think I'll just take her to Gators and hope she'll be at least somewhat useful. After I do that and get her some job levels, I think I'll go back to leveling my Merchant, since I've kind of ignored him and only used him for vending. I need to find a new short-term goal though; leveling only motivates me so far, to be honest!

Anyway, the bonus for today... have this super old banner I madefor my RO Diary way back when!

Ack, it's bigger than I remembered, so sorry if it stretches stuff out! You can tell just how horrible my skills were back then because I didn't bother to clean the images or choose a better font color or anything. The poem's pretty horrible too, so I don't recommend squinting your eyes and trying to read it. Munaks, Bonguns, and Yao Juns are still my favorite RO monsters though, haha.

maintenance + procrastination = new entry

In my mind, vacation homework doesn't exist until the weekend before school and second-term senioritis overcomes Asian-perfectionist tendencies. But only sometimes, because I feel like my psychology textbook is calling for me to outline more pages. v_v Well, after this entry, I guess! Anyhoo, the usual comment responses...

---

@ Adeat:
Awesome, another Guilty Gear fan! :D Ky's pretty cool; I kinda wanna try playing him sometime just because he has one of the awesomest themes in the game. xD

I haven't tried Hodes yet, but they seem like pretty promising packages of exp. *-* Must check it out sometime...

@ Kandice:
Oh, do you mean Sunshine Islands? I think that's the most recent one for the DS, but I haven't really returned to the series in a while. >_>; How far along are you? :D

Triple clienting feels so slow X_x I had to close Firefox to make it work properly, haha.

----

I should probably respond to comments in a different way, but oh well. v_v I'll figure it out eventually! Anyway, triple clienting was such a pain that I just wanted to finish up the Caramels exp quest and go to other places! It made movement all choppy and autofollow kept failing, so I felt like I was leveling at an incredibly slow pace. It might be efficient since I can level three chars at once, but it doesn't really feel worth it if I just get headaches afterward. Although, the BGM there has to be one of my favorite in the game. *-* <3 RO's music

Also, that last quest got my Merch Overcharge 10 and my Thief Improve Dodge 10. :D Short-term goals, accomplished! Now I can level my Merch at a more relaxed pace since he only has base exp to worry about (Pushcart 10 is more of a luxury than anything to me, and I'm too stingy for Mammonite 10), and focus more on getting my Thief to Rogue. I'm not sure whether I should change at job 40 or 50 though... Prolly 40, but that 3-slotted Gladius is tempting...!

Anyway, I decided to head to TF to hunt Well-baked Cookies for the Valentine's Day quest. Free monster eggs and decent experience? Ohboy! Although, I saw this scary sight along the way:

asdfasdgf bot triplets. All the same name, just with different numbers... If any Valk peeps have ever been to the Spore or Wolves map, you've prolly seen Assassins with that same exact hairstyle and a Pumpkin hat. v_v Kind of ridiculous how it's gotten to this extent...

Also, I bought some cheap Pearls for the Crazy Uproar skill quest! `w` Now I won't be annoyed at my Merchant's constantly full SP bar, yayyyyyy~

Anyway, TF was sorta crowded with both bots and actual players, as expected. Still, I managed to find a good area for my Thief and Aco to patrol and hunt, heh heh. Even in Valk, you can find mobs like this:

I know, I probably sound arrogant, but to be honest, I just get really proud of myself when I find a whole bunch of monsters on a botted map...

Anyway, hunting was pretty good! Got enough cookies for my three chars and then some. I think I might save them for my Archer, in case I can convince my friend to log on and level to 20. I also found...

Ohyeah! Awesome card, but as much as I like the Aco set, I'll probably try to sell it. I think I need to focus more on getting better gears than card sets I can only dream of, though when I finally get that Undershirt and complete my set, I'm not sure what else to get. Good weapons? What constitutes a good weapon? Maybe better armor, but what kind of armor do I need, exactly? I should probably do more research...

Speaking of Undershirts, why have they been vending at 700k and even 900k recently? X_x I've been looking for one at like 450k since I'm horribly stingy, but I think I might bump that up to 500k. xT On another note, I decided to just buy Panties instead of hunting them like I originally planned, since I don't think my Thief will get enough flee for Requiems anytime soon...

Er... right, back to the entry and no more rambling! I like planning things way too much for my own good... Anyway, along with the Cookie Card, managed to find tons of slotted Sandals, some slotted Hoods, and two of those Chef King Orleans book. I guess I should be happy for rares (semi-rares? sorta rares?), but I really wonder why this luck didn't help me at all when I was opening the New Year Gifts...

Anyway, took a break from hunting and when I logged back on...

... I was spawncamped by Angeling. v_v I'm not sure why I hid Miria's corpse, maybe it was just too gruesome for the eyes.

Since I had my cookies anyway, I decided to start the quest! Off to Hugel for a memo~

... This is actually my first time on the Airship, ever. 8D;; I should've taken more screenshots like the tourist I was.

The Valentine's Day quest was actually really cute, though I won't spoil it for all you people who haven't done it yet. After some traveling and warping and talking and waiting, I ended up with...

Isis Egg
Dokebi Egg
Chonchon Egg

... I should've taken screenshots, but I didn't. v_v You'll just have to deal with more text, wahaha! Anyway, I was hoping for a Munak or a Bongun Egg, since they're my two favorite monsters. Or an Orc Warrior Egg for the awesome ATK bonus! Looks like they'll all have to put on my "Get When I'm Filthy Rich and Have Zeny to Spare" list though, right next to all those fancy headgear I've always wanted. v_v Will prolly sell the eggs... IF I can sell them. :/ The market's prolly overflowing with pet eggs!

The next day (today!), I decided I should stop logging on my Merch just for vending and test the exp at Savages!

Ohyeah, action shot! Turns out they're pretty good, like 2.5% base on Each Take. The music there is also amazing, so it's a win/win leveling spot! Only bad thing is that Liadan actually has to conserve SP here since Mae doesn't have Miria's super awesome dodging skills and is just pumping STR for High Orcs. >_> Although I'm dreading going there too; it's prolly incredible crowded and the monsters there are gonna hurt. v_v

Also, have I mentioned how much I love axes? They seem like a mediocre weapon in RO since they lower ASPD so much, but to be honest, I really wanna make an Assassin just to dual-wield some axes... Sure, he or she would attack at the speed of molasses, but it'd be ridiculously awesome sdfdfsgf

As a last note, I'm not sure why there were so many bots on that map... Or maybe they're actually real players? I always feel bad for assuming that other characters are bots every single time I'm out leveling...

Whatever the case, some foolish bot person just decided to leave THIS on the floor!

Woo, free card! It's not worth much (maybe that's why it was left), but oh well! Kept leveling until it was time for maint. So, my characters' levels are as follows:

Miria Iraen [Thief] - 45/32
Maethiel [Merchant] - 44/31
Liadan Lown [Acolyte] - 44/33
Isaac West [Archer] - 1x/1x

Poor Isaac, I haven't played him in forever. v_v My friend hasn't been in an RO mood for a while though, and I can't just level without her.

So, plans after maintenance? After I finish my outline, prolly even more leveling (it's like the only thing I do in RO, oi ;3;) and getting those D class items exchanged for even more New Year Gifts! After that though, I dunno. Maybe check out Hodes, though according to this stat calculator, Miria can flee them and Frilldoras pretty well. I'll be tempted to triple client again for efficiency, but... well, we'll see, I guess.

Also, I'm pondering on joining a guild... my chars aren't very strong, but I've been lurking on the 'ficial iRO forums and there are some nice non-WoE guilds open to all levels and classes. Grinding is great and all and I have enough patience for it, but I figure I should be, y'know, socializing like you're supposed to in an MMO. >3>

Additionally, I feel like I should spruce up my ROS a bit. I can't say I'm good at HTML at all (hilarious for a kid who was once considering majoring in Comp Sci), but it shouldn't be hard to draw a banner and put it up at the top or something. The only problem is that my art is capable of setting people's eyes on fire, so maybe I'll just make something with sprites, I dunno. My spriting is horrible too though, haven't done it for years...

Anyway, that's the end of another tl;dr wall-of-text entry from the Blob! I should take more screenshots so it looks more colorful, or something. Speaking of screenshots, the bonus picture of the day is...

Saw this lil' runaway Lif while walking around in Pront. It reminded me of that one horrific Doddler thread on the iRO Wiki forums that scarred me for life.

On a non-RO note, the Guilty Gear 4koma I ordered as part of my Christmas present finally arrived yesterday! `w` I can't say I'll be able to understand even half of it, but I think with my meager Japanese skills, an online dictionary, and some patience, I'll be able to get through it. :D It's awfully tempting to just look at the pretty pictures without trying to translate, though!

growllll

Just wanted to start this off with a Happy New Year to anyone else celebrating, Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, and a Happy Birthday to Adeat! RO is down again, so I figure I might as well take the chance to make yet another entry! But first, the usual Blobby ROS tradition of responding to comments...

---

@ Cielandria: BLAZBLUE~! If I ever get a PS3, that game'll be one of the first I'll get for it. *-* I've watched enough videos to know who I'd want to try to main, hehe xP

Lol, I prolly did get lucky with Wolves... I usually try to find a place bots don't pass by often and managed to find this one spawn area to patrol. :]

Gems don't sound like too much of an issue, and I guess bad behavior is just to be expected everywhere you go, in-game and out. If there are only 2 parties though, why not create another one? Although I feel like I might end up steering clear of them anyway...

The Lunar New Year Event is described here. Pay cash to possibly get neat stuff! I'm not really sure how this relates to the new year at all, but oh well, I guess.

@ Callista: Dizzy is cute! :D I've heard that Overture is completely different though, and that some people don't  want to accept it as what really happens... I haven't played it, but personally, I wish they'd brought back more characters besides Sol and Ky. :/

Ugh, I think the mass disconnecting was even worse than the lag. X_x And it's happening again too...!

---

Wow, that felt longer than usual! Probably because I ranted so much, hahaha. Anyway, didn't really play Friday or Saturday, but I played a decent amount today! I was in the mood for some questing (although I'm always in the mood for questing...), so I decided to have Liadan do the Acolyte Training Quest! Was pretty easy, although it brought me back to Payon Cave for the first time in years... Kind of ridiculous considering that it was and is still my favorite dungeon, but it looks like it's being botted too. Not sure why though; I can't really think of anything valuable on the 1st floor, except maybe Opals.

Also, after checking out that Lunar New Year event some more, I saw one particularly magnificent prize:

And decided to get me some Kafra points! Chinese New Year money would more than pay for it anyway, heheheh (I'm such a spoiled kid...). The slotted panties and undershirt combo was all the way up there in the "Will Get When Pigs Fly" section of my wish list, right under the Bloodied Shackle Ball + Shackles combo! Although I've been patiently scanning Ragial for a cheap, unslotted Undershirt (gonna hunt Panties when Miria, my Thief, has enough flee), I just couldn't resist this chance...

The result?

20x Korean Rice Cake
10x Sesame Pastry
10x Honey Pastry
10x Rainbow Cake
2x Slotting Advertisement
30x Party Blessing Scroll
10x Spearman Scroll
10x Bowman Scroll
1x Aquarius Crown
3x Vagabond's Skull
10x Spirit Liquor

...

WHAT

how heartbreaking. ._. Especially since slotting advertisements are in the same class as the underwear combo... Most of those are things I don't really need: the foods, mercenaries, and blessing scrolls are more like unnecessary luxuries to me, none of my characters can equip the crown (base 70 limit WHYYY), and I don't care for a Wanderer pet... I guess I can save those slotting advertisements for when I do have my underwear combo or something... Or maybe I can use those merc scrolls, but I've never used them before and don't really know much about them either... There was someone buying party buff scrolls for 100k each though, so maybe I can make a quick 3mil with that? Or wait until there's a D Class exchanger... or somehow find ways to sell stuff I don't need, I don't really know ._.

...
Anyway, after that, I decided to bring my super awesome plan to fruition... After reading Cielandria's journal, I realized I could just multiclient most of my characters and earn massive amounts of exp through repeatable exp quests! Sure, the shared exp would be amazingly bad, but the reward seemed pretty good! Adding that to the fact that Miria can flee Cocos and Caramels pretty well and you get...

Triple clienting is insane! I felt so embarrassed every single time another player passed by (there's a good amount of real players there, surprisingly!) because I must've looked like such a klutz stumbling around on three characters. v_v I got the hang of it eventually, but even so...!

Anyway, I get a disappointing amount of exp through killing stuffs, but I get around a level per 100 Cocos massacred! Not sure about Caramels since I didn't complete that quest yet. At one point, the monsters in the area I was patrolling all but disappeared, and later on when I was rushing back to the turn-in NPC so I could get exp before I left for family stuff, I found out that it was because they were all spawning near the entrance. v_v So many Cocos and Caramels, all gone to some other lucky kid...

Gaming ended there 'cause I left for the usual New Year's family dinner and whatnot. Prolly won't get a chance to game again tonight, but oh well. Got the rest of the week, heh heh. Not sure where to go after Cocos and Caramels, but I know I'll be collecting Well-baked Cookies at some point! After that, who knows... maybe I'll look into partying after all instead of just soloing by myself all the time.

I... don't have a bonus screenshot but I bet that's actually a good thing 'cause they're not very interesting, but I do have a nice video to share! The song's been in my head for a while, and the video's pretty cute too, so enjoy!

thinking up creative titles is too troublesome

Not much to report on, but I figure it's about time for a new entry anyway! At least this one will be shorter though... hopefully. Who knows how much I'll ramble? Anyway, comment responses...

---

@ Callista: Yay, a fellow Guilty Gear fan! :DDD Do you main anyone? Also, thanks for the 'grats~ :D

@ Cielandria: Lol, I'm glad someone likes my super long entries xD Makes me feel less guilty about rambling all the time!

@ Adeat: Yeah, but even when everything costs millions of zeny, that first 100k always feels so special. *-*

---

Yay, my ROS looks a little less messy now. 8D; Anyway... had a snow day yesterday (asdfsdf I LOVE SNOW), so I sought to capitalize on the (hopefully) less crowded maps! My Thief, Miria, was getting a bit too high-leveled for Spores, so I decided to go check out Wolves. Turns out they're not so bad when you have an Aco handy, and what's more is that Wolves and Boas both drop Strawberries! Managed to get around 50 of those and a whole bunch of levels just from spending some time there, though my time there wasn't without its troubles...

Yeah, Miria died to that mob... Usually she could alright with like 5 or so (with massive Heal spammage of course), but 7 was just too much for her flee to handle! Managed to get her back, but she died a few more times... Then the whole server fail thing (the DDoS attack? heard it was another problem though) struck when I was walking her back to the map X_x Couldn't get her back for a while and Liadan, my Acolyte, ended up stranded, but apparently I wasn't the only one stuck:

Woo, bad screenshot! But I ended up meeting a Thief who couldn't get back to Pront and an Alchemist who was leveling his Filir. While we waited for the attack/failure/whateveritwas to end, we had this nice conversation about evil bots and stuff. :D I also got advice to head to Gators once I got to base45, although from what I heard from the Thief, people there are sometimes kinda rude :/ Apparently they wanted him to pull on no-flee Archer, which is... silly, to say the least.

It makes me want to continue multiclienting and just level like that, but I feel like I should be partying with other people... I mean, I shouldn't just solo through the entire game; why would I play an MMO, then? Even so, stories like that are kind of discouraging... I guess I just gotta try first, though. People can't be that bad, right...

Anyway, leveled some more when the servers were up and... that was my day. :D;; Basically just leveling a lot! Makes for a boring entry, but oh well. I have next week off from school though, so that should hopefully make for more interesting entries, heh heh.

So, the bonus screenshot for today:

It's a boring picture, but I logged on to vend a bit today and was surprised there was suddenly so many people around. Realized that it was because of the Lunar New Year Event, but the amount of shops/chats up and the people around reminded me of the days when you lagged in Pront not because of zeny bots, but because of the sheer amount of people there. Things have changed now, huh...

super long entry go!

Posted on February 7, 2010 at 10:48 - 3 Comments - Post Comment - Link

And here's yet another ridiculously long and uncropped screenshot-filled entry by the Rambling Demonic Blob! Although I played a lot these past few days, so you can sorta forgive me... right? :D

I think I'll start entries off by answering comments though, just like in my old RO Diary!

@Esper: Lol, thanks for the offer though! xD Valk is sorta stupid in many ways, but it's not that bad... `3`

@Cielandria: Thanks for the welcome! :D It's nice to meet a fellow Valk player! Lil' Liadan the Aco isn't married, but a walking blue potion sounds awfully tempting...

I should prolly start organizing my ROS or something, it looks kinda messy. :D;; Oh well...

Anyway, didn't play on Thurs like I wanted to, but I did get to try that multiclient thinger on Friday! :D Was kinda hard to get used to controlling two characters and my Merch died a few times because of that, but I think I've sorta gotten the hang of it. It makes for a more interesting time than just ctrl-clicking everything, that's for sure. I sadly forgot all about experience tapping 'til an hour in or so, but at least I remember it now! :D Leveled my Merch and Aco on Spores 'til they reached their 20s, then called it a day. I don't have any screenshots of those few hours, but it wasn't really interesting anyway. xD Unless you think watching some newb clumsily controlling two chars is interesting...

Decided to finally vend stuff on Saturday. Was my first time vending, so I shamefully forgot that I needed a cart and had to walk back and forth to the Kafra for it... At least I sorta did some research on the prices though! Anyway, finally got the opportunity to sell all those stems and strawberries and spores and stuff, and within a few hours...

Let's get a close-up of that.

What. This is prolly nothing to all you billionaires out there, but I think this is the first time I've ever made so much money in like... ever. I think I had like 1mil or so way back when on Loki (or did I spend it all on cute headgears?), but that was the result of several months of hard work, whereas I basically made the same amount in a few days worth of game time. It's really amazing how much knowledge matters in the game... I think the added irony is that I always leveled my Thief at Poison Spores back then, yet sold all the spores I got to the NPC. Granted, I forgot whether trans classes were in back then, but the bots weren't there because of the exp, right...?

BTW, I'm not sure why I stuck Mae behind a wall... I think my instincts as a shy kid were acting up, and I just ran for whatever lonely corner I saw. Whatever the case, it makes for a pretty bad screenshot!

Also, I feel so triumphant about this that I've decided to change my avatar here into a more appropriate one. Sadly I don't know who to credit for it since I collected it a long time ago, but props to anyone who recognizes the character!

Anyway, I decided to make yet another character. Not really for the novice pots (having an Aco drastically reduces the need for them), but for another moneymaking character. As much as I adore Mae, he's not that great of a fighter yet (even though he's going to be an AGI battlemerch) and it just felt more efficient to have him vend while another character hunted. The fact that I'm not going to play my Archer without my friend only solidified this decision, so I introduce you to...

Lil' Miss Miria Iraen, doing her best at the Thief Job Change Quest. Also, I think my heart jumped when that Spore came close. Considering how every other monster in that dungeon is aggressive, the last thing I needed was an aggressive Spore...

BTW, if you played on Loki like 5 or 6 years ago and saw a Rogue named Miria with that hairstyle... that was me! :D I think she had a Back Ribbon back then, it looked pretty good on her. Maybe I can make one for her again if I ever get fabulously wealthy.

Anyway, Miria got to Thief after a while and I was feeling awesome then so I gave another Novice my spare mushrooms, which made me feel awesomer! Doing good deeds is the best and I don't care how cheesy I sound when I say it! :D

After getting her to Thief, I decided to go buy only the awesomest NPC gears I could get! Originally I was going to be a cheapskate by sharing stuff between my two fighters and not buying anything for my Aco, but vending left me with around 1mil, which was more than enough. Cue gigantic trip around the RO world, from Geffen for bgems (1k is nothing! Nothing at all!) to Morroc for the super awesome Damascus to Alberta for even more super awesome axes. BTW, while I was in Alberta, I ended up accidentally activating the Merchant Training Quest and sending myself back to Pront... It was really annoying, had to warp/walk all the way back again. Anyway, after a long while...

That's right, I was triple-clienting! It was a bit clunky, but oh well. Managed to trade around items anyway, though I realize now I need to get Miria some fashionable headgear. Mae has his bandana, Liadan has her circlet, and Isaac's being a rebel by not wearing any headgear at all, so obviously Miria needs to look fancy! I was thinking about getting her Goggles or something, but those are apparently all the way in Hugel, so...

Anyway, spent the rest of the afternoon leveling Miria on Spores until she could use her Damascus and leveling Mae on Mukas until he could use his Two-Handed Axe. Spores were easy of course, but the Muka map is definitely more unforgiving between Steel Chonchons, Metallers, and Hunter Fly. Apparently I thought I was invincible and thought I could take the former two, only to die in two hits to the Metaller. I can sorta take Steel Chonchons, but it's an unpleasant, uphill battle full of Heals and Novice Potion spamming. Died the first time I tried because they just didn't stop spawning, ugh.

Liadan was there both times, of course; she's just too helpful with buffs, and she's best suited for traveling considering she can teleport, warp, and increase her movement speed. The way I've got things planned out, I'm basically going to use her to ferry my characters and items wherever they need to go. Only downside to this is that I'm not really conserving bgems, but oh well.

My goals right now are simply to max Overcharge and then Pushcart on my Merch and max Improve Dodge on my Thief. Since my Aco's leveling with both of them and adjusting exp share conditions when needed, I'm not too worried about her. What I am worried about is what to do after that; I might have a short-term plan for skills and stuff, but I'm really unsure about long-term stuff. For example, what should I be aiming to buy with the current money I'm getting? I know I eventually want an Undershirt-Pantie combo since all my fighters are AGI-based, but I feel like I should be aiming for elemental weapons or something. At the same time though, I feel like I switch leveling areas too much for specific weapons, but maybe that's the problem? Maybe I need to establish more permanent leveling spots when my characters get strong enough...

Of course, they're pretty low-leveled right now. Not including Isaac, who's at base 18 and will be until my friend comes back, they're around base 30 or so. I think my fighters are fine where they are right now, but when the exp slows down, I'm not sure where to go. I was thinking Wolves but that map feels insanely crowded, even more so than Mukas where there are thief bots on every corner. Maybe it's time for exp quests? Creamies are around my level but the map they're in is incredibly inconvenient... and Cocos and Caramels seem a bit too much for me right now. Anyone more experienced in this have any ideas?

Wow, this entry turned out a whole lot longer than I thought it'd be! Prolly because I ramble too much though, and just let everything out of my mind all at once xD Oh well! If any readers get this far though, I'll be honestly surprised! It must be tough wading through all this stuff, so I'll give you the gift of a hopefully shorter entry next time.

You also get a bonus screenshot even though that just makes this entry longer!

I think I mentioned how crowded the Muka map was, so imagine my surprise when I found all these! The best part about it was that I managed to get all of them before anyone else came.

moar potz plz

Thanks for the welcomes! :D To address some comments, I used to be on Loki the last time I played iRO, but I probably won't be heading back to premiums. If I do though, it'll definitely be Loki. xD I wonder if I left anything useful there...

... Though then again, considering how I was the sort of player that never upgraded anything and spent time getting headgear more than anything, there's prolly nothing there but uselessly cute headgear. xD I remember how super proud I was when I finally bought an NPC Damascus for my Rogue though! I think I saved up for a month or something to get that, haha. Wow, this just turned into another ramble... I should prolly try to control that or something.

Anyway, didn't really play much recently. I did remember that I was running out of Novice pots though, but since those are kind of important and I'm too cheap to buy Meats or something, I decided to make another Novice for free pots! Then I decided that there was something even better than that!

A walking red potion and 380 free novice pots? Ohboy!

The screenshot doesn't really say much about anything, but I don't have a picture of lil' Liadan Lown as an Acolyte. xD Stopped playing there, but I think after maintenance, I'll take her and my Merch to Spores and try out this newfangled dual-client thingermabobber. The problem is just getting my Merch to Pront so he can sell those Stems and save all my cold, garment-less, shoeless characters. I had this plan to get Liadan to learn Warp Portal, but that kind of failed since bgems are absurdly expensive. Back in my day, bgems were 600z and multiclients were illegal and blah blah blah...

So, as a parting gift, uh... have this old screenshot:

My first death by a DB'd monster. ;3; There was also some monster near the northern exit of that map that fireball'd me for 3k or something, but it was on a cliff so I never saw it. D: It's a better archer than I am!

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER

Err, not really. I can't say I can do much of anything yet! But yeah, here's yet another newbie who just came back to RO a few days ago! I guess then that doesn't really make me a newb, but things have changed so much that I might as well be one. RODiary died (used to be Koorae there, sorta quit after a while though xD hi if you had an ROD too!), Morroc exploded (still can't believe it's just a bunch of rubble now), the number of bots has somehow grown... but I guess that makes sense since I play on a free server. Why yes, I do play on iRO Valkyrie, how did you know?

Er, enough rambling, I guess. So I rejoined RO with my friend, who is an actually new to the game! Took us a bit to get through the Training Grounds, mainly because Spores hit really really hard and Condors are traps that magically spawn onscreen when you're attacking one. Managed to get out eventually and since we were smart and hunted Willows for a bit...

Instant Archerdom, yours for only a few trunks!

Also did some of the Archer Training Quest for free Fire Arrows, which we then took to Mandragoras. Good exp and good loot (heard that Stems sell pretty well), so why not? Will prolly stay there until we can take Floras or some such. To be honest, I'm not really sure where to level as an Archer besides at unmoving monsters... That and I'm really bad at hit-and-run, thanks to position lag and general lack of skill. xD Oh well, I'll figure things out.

Also made a Merch to sell the stems!

He's now incredibly fashionable with one of those storebought Bandanas. At least he won't just end up as a vendslave though; he'll be a sort of super longterm project, so to speak! Sort of had trouble with the Merch job change quest though... originally they wanted me to go to Morroc, which was... really far, to say the least. Heard that I could change the location by dropping the box, so I did that and... lost 500 z. And had to redo that part. And was sent to Morroc again. And ended up using 1500 z in total... don't they know that's really expensive for starting players?! I almost couldn't afford to be fashionable because of that!

But that's enough rambling from me for one day. xD Feel free to say hi to either of my character if you see me! I don't bite, or at least, I can't really bite. xD As a parting message, I leave you with this screenshot:

No one takes my stems and gets away with it! >:0
