60 Revolutions
This week I was browsing fightersgeneration.com in search of good inspiration for female action poses, and I was struck by something. I grew up loving fighting games, but their excuses for putting women in the ring are unbelievably transparent. Yet also AWESOME. Its comforting to know I could be a waitress, high school preppy girl, j-rock band member, or nature-loving peasant girl and still somehow be able to curbstomp career martial artists and village-eating demons just because its Tuesday. Or because I had a crush on one of said martial arts masters, needed tournament prize money for my sick mother/new restaurant or wanted revenge on the evil organization that killed my father.

Someday I'm gonna invent the fighting game version of me.  And I/she will be AWESOME. My paltry 60 hours of adrenaline-state self-defense training and 20ish hours of basic kung-fu almost make me overqualified!

Speaking of fighting, how about that election?  I'm drawing a pic in celebration. Well, indirectly.  Since it commemorates a brave minority member (in this case, a fully clothed video game heroine) taking on a bloated, slimy gasbag whose time has come (in this case, a tentacle beast.)

(You'll have to copy+paste it, I can't make hotlinking work on this site AT ALL anymore for some reason, text or no text.)

Samus Aran vs. Phantoon. Still a WIP, I hope. It needs some serious fixing which I may or may not have the time/patience to do before Dimp's iwiki contest ends (and I'm not expecting to win anyway.) Super Metroid is one of those games responsible for creating the little path of neurons that light up in my brain when I think of what a video game truly is.  It was a pillar of my childhood consciousness, and part of a list of only 5-6 games that I consider classics.  Not that I can't enjoy newer games, of course, but they'll never bring that same silly smile to my lips and wistful sigh to my lungs that this game does.

Oh right, RO is a game too. I've been terribly lazy lately though.  I've actually devoted most of my in-game time to afking my Baby Alchemist. God damn, 98 is being a whore.  I think I only died once at 97, but I'm going on 5 deaths at 98, which is silly to me, because I rarely leave my keyboard for longer than 30 minutes or so. I was gonna take a pic when I got to 50%, but this is the best I could manage:

Eh well, not like I have to be in any particular hurry, since he can't trans.

I've been at a loss as to what character to actively level, however.  For once I don't have a clear vision of who to trans next, if in fact I can trans something else now that I work full-time. My most likely candidate is my Rogue (30% from base 92) but what the hell would I do with a Stalker?

After that, its probably my Sader, who's only base 76 and has been leveled via slaves and exp items. So I actually don't even know if I truly like playing a Sader yet.  I only really made one because it was against my usual play style, and I had next to no experience with Swordie classes.  A Paladin would be so against type for me that its delicious to think about, even though it probably won't ever happen.

Oh yes, and remember Stanley, the kitten at work that I got to name because it was my birthday? The next day, he got a cold, and now that he's over that, he's developed some neurological issues; he can't walk straight for more than a few feet and he tilts his head to the right.  Ugh. This isn't necessarily a bar for finding him a home (our office vet said its most likely a birth defect) but he might be waiting for awhile.  But he's growing into a sweet cat, even with his problems. Today when I opened his cage he immediately leaned all of his weight onto my chest and started to purr.

Fuck you, cute animals! n_n

And lastly, thanks for the b-day wishes and nice compliments on the last entry, and yes, one of DI's guild emblems is Fabio. Its my personal favorite!

Dying at 96+ sucks, no matter what the level. =/ In before Rei who will say Sader! Maybe you can try playing all of the characters before deciding? I would go for Stalker myself, seeing as how your Rogue is so close. However, Saders seem like fun, especially MR Pallies...

That picture is epic.

Finally, you stumped me with the game female who wants the prize money for her sick mother! I can only think of sick BROTHER (King in Art of Fighting 2/KoF '98) but mother... Gah. I'll probably hit myself over the head if/when I hear the answer.

But let me take a stab at the others. :D

Waitress: The cast of Variable Geo
High-School Preppy Girl: Sakura Kasugano, Hinata Wakaba, Heart Aino... many examples here
J-Rock Band Member: I-No?
Nature-loving Peasant Girl: Nakoruru is the strongest image in my mind
Crush on said master: Kisarah Westfield (who wins points for this topic AND being a High-School Preppy Girl), Mai Shiranui, Guilty Gear's May
Tournament prize money for restaurant: Jam Kuradoberri
Revenge on evil organization who killed daddy: Chun Li

You really should invent the fighting game version of you. I'd like to see it!
